June 2022 Vintage Pack: Day at the Meow-seum
Say hello to “Day at the Meow-seum,” our Vintage theme for June! For as long as humans and cats have been friends, cats have been a favorite subject for artists. It seems only natural that some of them have become museum-goers and some have become artists themselves! 😻
🖼️ Museum visits would be even more fun if a few period cat portraits were scattered around the gallery halls, don’t you think? @phoenix7472 has the right idea, adding cats into the canon of art history.
🏺 These cats are big fans of ancient art and long for a return to when cats were worshiped as gods. But until then, they’re happy to simply tour the collection, making sure to remain hidden from the human crowds.
🐾 This cat by @dacachifujino is a regular Kittyana Jones, finding lost feline masterpieces and returning them to museum collections so that school kittens can continue to visit and learn their history!
🎨 Artists throughout history haven’t been able to resist a good cat painting! Here are some of our favorites – we’re especially fond of that long boi.
👑 Ever wonder about your kitty’s illustrious family tree? For official family portraits, look no further than @erica.ward.illustration - from the mysterious to mischievous to lovely, there’s even some distant royalty!
🐈⬛ Create your own kitty art nouveau headings with this black cat from the famous poster for Le Chat Noir. Maybe today you’d prefer this chat to be purple or blue…
