In the early 20th century, Henry Francis du Pont (1880_š«1969) created a notable country place at Winterthur that today encompasses a 175-room house and a 60-acre naturalistic garden. With an emphasis on both beauty and comfort, H. F. du Pont furnished the rooms of his home with American antiques and other decorative and fine arts objects, representing the best in craftsmanship and style.
In 1951, his home transformed into the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library and became open to the public. It showcases a collection that reflects du Pont_š«_È_ keen eye for design, color, and plants, and has continued to grow through the decades. Stickii Club was fortunate enough to be invited into Winterthur’s impressive archives and has mined the various rare books and ephemera collections to bring forth some vintage treasures to be enjoyed again today.
